About this Image:

Doc has always loved to draw and paint hands, and he has always found it easy to associate hands with the stories from the life of the Savior. With this painting Doc wanted to try to express in a simple way those associations, from the Savior’s infancy to his resurrection.

About the Artist:

DOC O. CHRISTENSEN was raised on a dairy farm in Merced, California, where he spent a lot of time learning to draw. At a young age, his mother soon introduced him to oil painting. Later on in life, he gained experience as a technical illustrator. Both accuracy and beauty are apparent in each of his works, his best known being The Portrait of the Prophets. Doc's religious art so far carries two main themes: Jesus Christ as the Savior, and the everyday commitment of believers choosing to live His gospel. Among his unique works, you will see scenes of valiant missionaries, faithful pioneers, modern-day families, and meaningful church service.
