Portraits of the Prophets by Doc Christensen
About this Image:
The Portrait of the Prophets is perhaps Doc Christensen’s most well-known, and beloved painting. The original painting was done in oil on canvas and measured forty-eight inches square to show the beauty of the ceiling of the Salt Lake Temple. The very first version of the Portrait of the Prophets was painted in 1979 by Doc and unique to that original oil painting, Christ was painted in the foreground with His back to the viewer and each of the Prophets was looking at Him.
