Hallowed Be Thy Name by Simon Dewey

Inspiration:

I wanted to present Christ, before His ministry began, preparing Himself through study and prayer. I painted a younger Christ to show that He had not yet begun His official ministry. It is a reminder to me to do those same things: Ere you left your room this morning, did you think to pray? (Hymns, no. 140) In the picture, the morning light is shining through a window onto Christ’s robe and face. I believe that there would have been a moment, before He went to the carpenter’s shop, when He would have taken time to ponder the words of His Father and pray to Him.
