When rescuers found the Martin Handcart Company, it is reported that the three riders were received as angels. As a result of how he looked coming through the snow, express rider Joseph Angell Young became known to the company as the blue angel. I painted the rescuers in motion as they searched for the stranded handcart company to create a sense of their urgency as they gave their all to serving their fellow Saints.
