In the Arms of Mary 5x7 print

Inspiration:

Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. - Luke 1:30 - 31

There are many paintings of Mary and the baby Jesus. What makes this image different for me is that I painted it along with an image of Joseph and Jesus and was able to find some new parents and a beautiful young baby that could model for Joseph, Mary, and Jesus. There was something very special in filming this genuine earthly family. I loved the true tenderness that was expressed between the three of them which made it very easy for me to translate the photographs into what I hope are tender and touching paintings.
