story behind the art

Salt Lake Temple Square by Eric Dowdle

Inspiration:

The official painting of Temple Square depicting important historical sites such as the magnificent LDS Temple, Tabernacle, Lion House, Beehive House, and Joseph Smith Memorial Building. The LDS Conference Center and the Church Office Building, the business headquarters for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, can also be seen. This painting was done in honor of President Gordon B. Hinckley for a celebration with the Salt Lake Chamber and you can find all 15 prophets with items or people that defined their presidency. There are 2 US Presidents as well as a few other famous people that were a part of Salt Lakes special moments. There is even Sister Hinckley’s favorite candy, Can you find it?
