Jerusalem by Kelsy and Jesse Lightweave
About this Image:
And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. - Luke 19:41 - 42
The sorrow of the Son of God as he wept over a city whose eyes were turned from the source of peace and salvation. The emphatic statement If thou hadst known...at least in this thy day calls to each one of us now to remember that today is now our day. Let the sorrows of the past help us look to the source of better actions, higher hopes, and brighter days ahead.
About the Artist:
KELSY & JESSE LIGHTWEAVE have been creating powerful photographic illustrations as a wife-husband duo since 2013. Together, along with their 4 children, theyve transformed their family hobby into a serious study and exploration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through artistic portrayals. Their Immanuel pieces depict Christs mission using symbols, color, and contrasting luminance. The Savior is the emanating light that brings life to everything physical and spiritual--A light that is underscored by the necessary opposing darkness found in its absence. The hope for the saving light and its actualization in our lives is taught to us through the ministry of Jesus Christ. Each art piece they create tells a story and can teach the viewer about Christs purpose and sacrifice for each one of us. Kelsy & Jesse shed a new perspective on the power of divine reflection, with the desire to share Christs story and mission using a different kind of brush.
