Our Good Samaritan

Inspiration:

In the Middle Ages, the Good Samaritan was seen as a symbol of the Savior. The certain man leaves the temple city Jerusalem on the way to one of the lowest cities on earth: Jericho. Old stained glass windows compared this to Adam and Eve leaving the garden. During the man's journey everything goes wrong. The law and the church fail to help him. "But a certain Samaritan⁠, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him." This series explores the symbolism of these scriptures. The savior's compassion can be seen as he stops to help, binds up wounds, carries the man, tends to him overnight, and finally promises to return again.
