On September 21, 1827, Joseph and Emma left the house for the Hill Cumorah, borrowing Joseph Knightâ€™s horse and wagon. Once at the hill, Joseph left Emma with the horse and wagon and ascended the hill to meet the angel Moroni and receive the golden plates. At last he returned carrying the plates in a cheese cloth after which they drove down the road where Joseph hid the plates in a hollow log. â€‹I imagine the stars shone especially brightly for them that night as Joseph finally received the long-awaited plates.
