About this Image:
This painting tells a humbling story of the gifts given and the gift received when a simple woman approached the Savior and proceeded to anoint His head with ointment and wash His feet with her tears, kiss them, and dry them with her hair. Perhaps she was caught up in mixed emotions—godly sorrow for past indiscretions, coupled with the joy that can come only from the sweet cleansing words, "Thy sins are forgiven." Indeed, it is our quiet acts of service, performed with love, that do a small part to repay our Savior for His ultimate gift. "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." (Matthew 25:40)
About the Artist:
Simon has quietly sought to celebrate the life and mission of Jesus Christ. His artistic journey began in London, England as a freelance illustrator. In 1997 he entered the world of fine art with the release of "He Lives". Since then, Simon has become known for his exquisitely detailed and delicate portraits capturing moments from the tender to the magnificent. Many marvel at the masterful way he portrays the love and compassion in the face of the Savior and the devotion in the eyes of the believers. Simon lives in Alberta, Canada where he continues to explore new perspectives to inspire and bear witness of eternal principles.
