Description

About this Image:

Depicted here are two LDS missionaries who have stopped on their way to play marbles with some local kids. Although the missionary’s call is to preach faith and repentance to every creature, it is also to be a light unto the world (Doctrine and Covenants 103:9) in ways that may include simple kindness or friendly gestures. Something as trivial as playing marbles may be a way of speaking to those you serve in their own language or on their own terms (see Alma 29:8; Doctrine and Covenants 90:11). Helping bring souls unto Christ can mean many things that do not seem directly related to convincing the world of divine truth. Who can measure the influence of a kind word, a selfless act, or a Christ-like deed? For by small and simple things are great things brought to pass… and by very small means the Lord doth confound the wise and bringeth about the salvation of many souls (Alma 37:6-7).

About the Artist:

JOSEPH F. BRICKEY is an award-winning artist in drawing, painting, and sculpture who currently resides in Orem, Utah, with his wife and seven children. Born and raised in Utah, he has studied art throughout the United States and Europe, pursuing the techniques of the old masters and the wisdom of the ancients to create classical art filled with symbolism. He is a graduate of Brigham Young University and the New York Academy of Art, and he is the director of the art program at the Beaux-Arts Academy, a school of classical art and architecture. He believes that "art should both measure up in the museum and capture the common heart. The greatest art is that which generates the greatest good."

About Altus Fine Art:

As individuals, we are all drawn, as Paul said, to seek after that which is pure, lovely, of good report, or praiseworthy. For the last 20 years, we at Altus Fine Art have been blessed to work with many artists who have bravely dedicated their talents to create artwork that lifts our hearts and souls and inspires us to live Christ-centered lives.

Our mission is to take this wonderful artwork and create affordable products for the average family or individual while still using quality materials and design. Our prices range from small prints that sell for less than a dollar up to large breathtaking masterpieces that sell for thousands of dollars and everything in between.

Altus Fine Art is a small company of individuals dedicated to making a difference in the world. We design, manufacture, and ship most of our products locally from our facility in American Fork, Utah. We welcome any feedback you have about our products or the way we do business. If any of our products have helped you in any way, we are grateful for the opportunity to serve.
