15 Phoenix Arizona Temple Pictures: The Desert Shall Rejoice
The Phoenix Arizona Temple was dedicated on November 16, 2014, making it the 144th completed LDS Temple and 5th LDS Temple in Arizona.
Every temple is designed and constructed with only the best supplies and materials in mind. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints seeks to give its all to the construction of each building dedicated to our Savior Jesus Christ, which is why every detail is carefully considered.
The Phoenix Temple is 27,423 square feet wide, with the extending grounds reaching a total of 5.19 acres. The exterior walls are made with integral colored concrete panels, with marble as the interior wall. The interior also takes on the tones of the desert with touches of earthy colors and turquoise.
Every LDS Temple is given a unique dedicatory prayer once the construction is completed. Interestingly, many of the more recent temples include passages with young people in mind. For example, in the Phoenix Arizona Temple dedicatory prayer, it says:
“Help the youth of Thy church stand firm for truth and righteousness. Open wide to their view the gates of learning, of understanding and of service in Thy kingdom. Build within them strength to resist the temptations of the world. Give them the will to walk in virtue and faith, to be prayerful and to look to Thee as their constant anchor.”
The special promises we make with God in the temple are the perfect place to draw perspective and strength. They remind us of what is truly important in life and helps us come to better understand God’s wisdom and His deep love for His children.
Six of our LDS temple photographers have captured breathtaking scenes of this beautiful and sacred building of worship. Each photo is perfect for inviting a sense of peace and calm into any home, especially if the Phoenix Temple holds special meaning to you and your loved ones.
Stunning Phoenix Temple Photos
In the Bible, Isaiah records a special prophecy that reads: “the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose” Isaiah 35:1). While this particular passage is referring to the second coming of Jesus Christ, the phrase easily comes to mind when looking at these beautiful shots of the Phoenix Temple, complete with lovely Arizona sunsets.
The temple brings a lot of joy and fulfillment to members of the church in the area and it is not uncommon for its presence to lead to community changes that make the surrounding area more visually appealing.
